The Friends of Chester Cathedral

The Society of Friends of Chester Cathedral is open to membership for all persons who love and care for the Cathedral, wherever they may live - be it near or far away or even overseas.

Dean Frank Selwyn Bennett founded the Friends in 1931. Membership is thriving and the Society is looking forward to welcoming its 1000th member.

The Friends support the development of both the worship and the music in the Cathedral, and also the maintenance of the fabric and the furniture of this most beautiful building.

The Friends hold a very successful Plant Sale every year on the first Friday and Saturday in May. There are also a number of social events during the year as well as a very popular overnight trip, usually in September. Two newsletters are published annually, which keep Members up to date with latest developments and news. The Annual General Meeting is held in June and all Members are invited to attend.

Membership subscription for the Friends is very modest.

2008 Subscriptions:

£15.00 per annum for an individual member

£20.00 per annum for couple or a family membership

£25.00 per annum for corporate membership (PCC's and Businesses).
