Chester Cathedral Choir in concert: celebrating the music of Benjamin Britten and Herbert Howells
Join the Chester Cathedral Choir for a commemorative concert this Saturday 18 May 2013 at 7.30 pm as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Benjamin Britten’s birth and the 30th anniversary of the death of Herbert Howells.
The performance will include
- Rejoice in the Lamb, a piece about the praise and worship of God by all living creatures, composed by Britten in 1943
- Requiem, a rarely performed work about loss and consolation, composed by Howells in 1936
From Tuesday 14 May until Friday 17 May we have a special offer on tickets for this Saturday’s performance: all seats will be just £5.00 each.

Chester Mystery Plays 2013
26 June - 13 July 2013
This amazing community theatre event takes place every five years. In 2013, the Chester Mystery Plays will be performed by hundreds of local volunteers led by a production team including Artistic Director, Peter Leslie Wild and Music Director/Composer, Matthew Baker.
For the first time ever, the plays will be performed in the Nave of Chester Cathedral.

Pre-show dining
A delicious two-course meal is available before the show in the Cathedral Refectory for only £10.00 pp if booked in advance.
Show vouchers
Vouchers are available which may be used as part or full payment against any type of ticket including family or group bookings. The vouchers are £10.00 and make wonderful presents for family or friends.

Refectory Cafe
The Refectory, built in the 13th century, was the dining hall for the 40 monks who belonged to the community at the time. The Refectory is open from 9:30 - 4:30 and a delicious lunch menu, fabulous cakes and free Wi-Fi!
