Chester Mystery Plays 2013 - a rare and unusual feast of theatre from 26 June to 13 July

Chester is counting down to the summer of 2013 and the production of the Chester Mystery Plays!

The Chester Mystery Plays is an extraordinary community theatre lasting two weeks which tells the greatest stories ever told!

They are only performed every 5 years and people from all over the globe flock to see them. Iconic Bible stories are transformed into a truly spectacular, dynamic theatrical experience through tales of ambition, intrigue, betrayal and passion. They are guaranteed to enrapture, astound and delight!

 A new script has been commissioned for the 2013 production, and for the first time ever, the Plays will be performed in the Nave of Chester Cathedral, a truly inspirational backdrop. This is a “not to be missed” event in the 2013 calendar!

Refectory Cafe

 

The Refectory, built in the 13th century, was the dining hall for the 40 monks who belonged to the community at the time. The Refectory is open from 9:30 - 4:30 and a delicious lunch menu, fabulous cakes and free Wi-Fi!
