The Education Department runs a series of special events throughout the year.

Stuck for something to do over the school holidays?  Why not join the Chester Cathedral education department for some fun-filled activities?  Children welcome with a parent or carer. Donations are requested to cover the cost of our materials.

Wednesday 4 June - Wednesday 9 July

This year’s summer series will focus on the theme What do the Gospels teach us about...?

Bible Talks are a series of lectures and discussions that take place in the Cloister Room of Chester Cathedral from 1.10pm until 2.00pm. There is no charge for attending but donations towards the work of education in the cathedral are welcome. T

Wednesday 27 August 
10 - 12am and 1 - 3pm

Suitable for children aged 5 - 11 years
Stuck for something to do over the Summer holidays?  Why not join Chester Cathedral's Education Department for some creative play.  You can paint, make puppets, plant seeds, make junk robots, sing, dance and act.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Tickets: £2.00 per session, £3.00 for both sessions.

Refectory Cafe


The Refectory, built in the 13th century, was the dining hall for the 40 monks who belonged to the community at the time. The Refectory is open from 9:30 - 4:30 and a delicious lunch menu, fabulous cakes and free Wi-Fi!
