Cloister Garden
The Cloister Garden (or ‘Garth’) lies at the heart of the monastic buildings
at Chester Cathedral, and is a haven of peace and tranquillity. Sitting there
on a sunny day, listening to the sound of water playing over the modern
‘Water of Life’ sculpture in the central pond, surrounded by the warm sandstone walls of the Cathedral, is a wonderfully peaceful experience. The garden was replanted two years ago with financial support from the Friends of Chester Cathedral and is now recognised as one of Cheshire's 'Gardens of Distinction', representing an extraordinary blend of modern
design and visual appeal in the atmospheric surroundings of a Medieval
cloister. Please click on the logo for further information.
