AuditionsNave ChoirDo you love singing and want to join a choir who sing every week during term time in Chester Cathedral? Have you some prior singing experience and a basic knowledge of musical theory? If you can answer YES to these questions then contact Ian Roberts, our musical director on 01244 500977 or by email to arrange an audition. The Cathedral Nave Choir was formed in the mid-nineteenth century and is the longest running Cathedral Voluntary Choir in the country. We participate in a weekly evening rehearsal and sing a Cathedral service on most Sundays during term time; providing music for some of the main services of the liturgical year such as Ash Wednesday Eucharist, Maundy Thursday Liturgy and Christmas Eve Midnight Mass. In addition to this, the choir gives occasional concerts and travels further afield on Cathedral visits and tours. The choir prides its self on having an interesting and varied repertoire that is performed to a high musical standard. There is an active social life and new members are always made to feel very welcome. For those that might be new to the area or for students spending a limited time in Chester, it is a great way to make new friends. |
